Currently, “custom suits” in Japan are called by many names, such as made-to-order, easy-to-order, pattern-made, and custom-made.
However, when he defines and categorizes them, he divides them into two categories: “full order”\u00a0(complete custom clothing), in which he creates a pattern from scratch according to each customer, and “part order”\u00a0(partial order), in which he makes adjustments from a predetermined pattern. There are two types of clothing.

“Full order” involves a process called “basting” in which parts are temporarily assembled and adjustments are made.
This item is mainly made entirely by hand by craftsmen. On the other hand, “part-order” reflects the style of each tailor, so there are great differences in the plans.
Even if you try to adjust the size, in some places the size is adjusted only in the vertical direction for the basic pattern.
